Vajra Chandrasekara‘s “The Translator, At Low Tide” was the first story I translated into Tamil, two years ago. It was published in the January 2026 issue of the leading Tamil literary magazine, kāḷaccuvaṭu, possibly one of the first climate fiction stories to appear in Tamil. When we started putting together the collection kaṭalōṭikaḷ, I decided to translate and include another of Vajra’s climate fiction stories, “Half-eaten Cities.” The Tamil digital literary magazine Kāṟṟuveḷi has now published the translation in their August 2026 special issue on translations.

நான் தமிழாக்கிய முதலாவது கதை வஜ்ர சந்திரசேகரவின் “The Translator, At Low Tide” (இரண்டு வருடங்களுக்கு முன்!).
